Caving and Abseiling in deepest darkest Derbyshire! 11-12-2009
I've been working recently with an adventure sports company based in the Peak District, Wildtrack. Together, we are producing a video to promote the various activities they run. The first shoot was down in Giants Hole, with a group of eager cavers. I had the pleasure of an underground abseil, and the challenge of filming in the dark and damp caves under Derbyshire! One of the reasons for making the video was to try and smash some commonly held myths about caving, i.e. that it just involves scrambling down underground rivers in the cold and wet! Hopefully we'll be able to show that there is so much more to it than that.
Coming up next is the abseiling shoot, where I'll be dangling off cliffs and bridges filming other people dangling off cliffs and bridges. We've already done the recce to get me used to dangling at heights and I'm looking forward to the shoot which is coming up in a couple of weeks.
